INTRODUCTION

1. Review our knowledge and understanding:

a) The mercy of God

b) The faithfulness of God

c) The righteousness of God

d) The judgments of God

2. How have they impacted our life?

a) Have we been further enlightened?

b) Have we been inspired?

c) Have we changed for the better

 

A DEEP LOVE FOR THE HOUSE OF GOD

1. David had an extraordinary love for God’s house

2. This was reflected in many ways

a) He was deeply concerned about the ark of God

b) He wanted to give it “a dwelling place” Psalm 132

c) He danced with joy before the Lord 2 Samuel 6:14

d) He prepared huge offering for the Temple 1 Chronicles 29

e) His giving is truly “legendary”

 

WHERE DID THIS LOVE FOR GOD’S HOUSE COME FROM?

1. His knowledge of God

a) Mercy

b) Faithfulness

c) Righteousness

d) The word of God

2. His faith-relationship with God

a) His walk with God

b) His communion with God

c) His cleansing from his sins

d) These experiences developed into a great love for God and His house

 

DAVID’S SPEECH TO THE LEADERS  

1. He spoke to Israel’s leaders concerning the building of the house of God 1 Chronicles 28:1

2. It was in his heart to build a house of rest for the ark 1 Chronicles 28:2

3. But God had forbidden him 1 Chronicles 28:3

4. Nevertheless, he did everything he could to assist Solomon

Who would see to the building of the house of God

 

DAVID’S WORD TO SOLOMON CONCERNING GOD’S HOUSE  

1. For the house of my God 1 Chronicles 29:2

a) Personal example

b) Personal word of encouragement

2. I have prepared with all my might 1 Chronicles 29:2

a) Gold

b) Silver

c) Bronze

d) Iron

e) Wood

f) Precious stones

3. Deep affection for God’s house 1 Chronicles 29:3

4. Over and above all that I have prepared

a) For the holy house

b) My own special treasure 1 Chronicles 29:3-5

 

THE FULNESS OF YOUR HOUSE I

GOD’S PART

1. God’s Plan

a) To have a Tabernacle built Exodus 25

b) That He might be with His people

c) That His presence may be among them

d) The ark of the Covenant would represent His presence

2. God’s Provision

a) He would provide the artisans to build the Tabernacle

b) He would provide priests and Levites to care for the Tabernacle

3. God’s Power

a) He would give His blessings

b) He would bless the ministries

c) He would bless the worshippers

 

THE FULNESS OF GOD’S HOUSE II

MAN’S PART

1. David understood what he must do

2. He responded magnificently

a) He would personally give to support it

b) He spared no expenses

3. He encouraged the leaders to do the same thing

a) They responded well 1 Chronicles 29:6-9

b) They gave willingly 1 Chronicles 29:6-9

c) They supported with much joy 1 Chronicles 29:9

4. Fulness involves the response of God’s people

a) This is to be understood

b) It is to be taught

c) It is to be sustained

1. To learn how to love God’s house

2. To support it in every we can
