INTRODUCTION

1. The problem of sin

a) It estranges us from God

b) It incurs His wrath

c) It hardens the heart

d) It corrupts the person

e) It enslaves and more!

2. A truly great blessing!

a) Forgiveness

b) The significance of the blessing of being forgiven

i) Taken for granted

ii) Not appreciated

iii) Not fully understood

 

WHEN SIN IS NOT DEALT WITH

Psalm 32:3-4

1. When I kept silence

a) No acknowledgment

b) No confession

2. My bones grew old

a) Health affected

b) Life affected adversely

3. Sorrows to the wicked Psalm 32:10a

a) No repentance

b) Choosing evil

4. God’s hand

a) Heavy upon the believer (the Psalmist David)

b) Vitality turned into drought

i) Dried up

ii) No strength

 

CONFESSION OF SIN

Psalm 32:5

1. Sin acknowledged and confessed

a) Sin (omission)

b) Transgression (breaking of law)

c) Iniquity (Evil within)

2. God’s response to confession

a) Transgression forgiven Psalm 32:1

b) Sin covered Psalm 32:1

c) No iniquity imputed Psalm 32:2, 5

 

RESTORATION OF RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

1. Prayer resumed Psalm 32:6

2. Protection from God Psalm 32:6

3. God as a Hiding place Psalm 32:7

a) Preservation

b) Deliverance

4. God’s Personal instruction

a) I will instruct you in the way you should go

b) I will guide you with My eye Psalm 32:8

5. Admonition

a) Don’t be like the horse or the mule

which have no understanding  Psalm 32:9

b) They must be harnessed

or they will not obey  Psalm 32:9
