Dear Brethren,

MEDITATION
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret.

13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by
the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.

14 Therefore He says:
“Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.”

Ephesians 5:1-13

OBSERVATION AND INTERPRETATION

1. Works of Darkness

a) They are unfruitful people
b) They do things in secret

i) They lie
ii) They cheat
iii) They steal
iv) They continue to use God’s name in vain

2. How should we respond?

a) No fellowship with such people who are wicked and unrepentant
b) They are to be exposed for their wrong-doing

3. Walking in the Light

a) We must manifest things by Light
b) Light will expose darkness!

A GREAT CHALLENGE GIVEN

1. To those who are:

a) Spiritually asleep
b) Spiritually dead

2. They can be awakened
3. They can be made to rise from the dead
4. The Lord Jesus will give the Light that is needed!

a) He is the Light of world
b) He gives needed light

APPLICATION TO LIFE AND MINISTRY
1. Fellowship

a) We must take great care of the people we fellowship with
b) Clear guidelines have been given in this Text

2. No Fellowship with wicked people

a) Not because of self-righteousness
b) But because this is Biblically commanded
c) If we continue to have fellowship with those who are in darkness:

i) They may think they are all right
ii) They may think they are doing nothing wrong

3. Encouraging people to come to the Light

a) Let us first walk in the Light
b) Then let us invited people to come alive to the Lord Jesus Christ
