INTRODUCTION

1. There are many problems in the world

2. To name but a few of these problems

a) Oppression

b) Injustice

c) Crime

d) War

3. It is all too easy

a) To become discouraged

b) To see our faith falter and wane

c) To be unable to bless the Lord for all His benefits

 

SUJSTAINING OUR HOPE

6The Lord executes righteousness

And justice for all who are oppressed.

7 He made known His ways to Moses,

His acts to the children of Israel. Psalm 103:6-7

1. Israel faced many challenges in life

a) Internal fighting

b) External enemies

i) Philistines

ii) Moabites

iii) Ammonites

2. There were many battles that had to be fought

a) How may Encouragement be found?

b) How may Faith be sustained?

c) How may Hope be kept alive?

 

MUCH MAY BE DERIVED FROM THE SCRIPTURES

1. They record God’s dealings with the nation of Israel

2. They contain the exemplary lives of God’s servants like Moses

3. They contain many significant things that God had done for His people

4. The Scriptures are a great source of Inspiration to all who believe in the Lord

5. They can sustain our spirits so that we can always bless the Lord!

 

ENCOURAGEMENT TO ALL WHO ARE OPPRESSED

The Lord executes righteousness

And justice for all who are oppressed Psalm 103:6

1. Oppression is a sad but common problem

a) Israel was severely oppressed by Ancient Egypt

b) The children cried out to God in their despair

c) Many wondered if God would deliver them,

2. An outstanding Faith

a) This was absent

b) The children of Israel groaned under the yoke of oppression

3. A great truth to be learned

a) That the Lord executes righteousness

b) That He executes justice to all who are oppressed

c) This was not a truth that ancient Israel had learned

d) Because of this lack of knowledge, there was a lack of faith

 

GOD’S MIGHTY HAND OF JUSTICE REVEALED

He made known His ways to Moses,

His acts to the children of Israel. Psalm 103:7

1. God knew the plight of the children of Israel

a) Externally, they were suffering

b) Internally, they were groping in despairing darkness

2. God’s plan would be revealed in two profound ways

a) God would make His ways known to Moses

b) He would reveal Himself through mighty deeds so that their faith would be restored

 

DRAWING ENCOURAGEMENT FROM MOSES

1. He was 80 years old when God called him to be His servant

2. His knowledge of God grew in leaps and bounds as he learned

3. His faith in God grew steadily through years of service

4. His life is an inspiration to all believers

 

LEARNING VITAL LESSONS FROM THE DEEDS OF GOD

1. The Person of God

a) He is Holy and Just

b) He is Faithful

c) He is our Redeemer

2. The Acts of God reveal the following facts:

a) He is all powerful

b) He will deal with the oppressors justly

c) He will redeem His people

 

 

CONCLUSION

5 Oh, that my ways were directed

To keep Your statutes!

6 Then I would not be ashamed,

When I look into all Your commandments.

7 I will praise You with uprightness of heart,

When I learn Your righteous judgments.

8 I will keep Your statutes;

Oh, do not forsake me utterly! Psalm 119:5-8

1. When we learn the righteous judgments of God

2. We will be able to praise Him with uprightness of heart

3. It is possible to practise blessing the Lord faithfully
